The mM Team

Erin Jackson, Co-Founder

As a HR professional who has grown a People organization from it's early days to a Global team, with experience in each of the specializations in HR, I have lived the role both directly and in support of managers across disciplines in multiple companies. My true passion lies in teaching others. With the "Developer" strength (in Gallup terms) in my Top 5, my energy is dedicated to managers who seek development and success with their team engagement. I've grown my HR consulting business serving dozens of companies over the last several years and am excited about Manager Material as a way to make modern manager training more accessible to many more.

I am a proud Aggie ('11) and proudly served as the Asst. Director of Big Event in 2011- the largest one day service event in the nation. I'm the "Bonus Mom" to my three kids here in Austin, TX and spend time each week serving with Austin Ridge Bible Church to welcome new visitors, and as a Bible Study group leader. This year we're excited to take the kids to the Dominican Republic for a mission trip with Austin Ridge.

Justin Jackson, Co-Founder

From restaurant management to years in Technology and Saas, I've spent my career on the revenue side of business with team culture and investment in people as core focus areas. These areas are central reasons for my success. My professional career spans from individual to senior leadership roles at Dell Technologies, to leading teams at Amazon and Uber, as well as time with a handful of innovative startups along the way. I've led organizations from small single digits to 400+, proudly counting high engagement, low attrition, diversity and career growth of my teams as standout metrics.

While not at work, I enjoy "handy" projects around the house and neighborhood, volunteering, attending Austin Ridge Bible Church and even a bit of cooking.

The Mission

Core to our work is the belief that we are called to serve. That's what We've learned and believe the Word teaches. Like most everyone else, we don't always get it right. We struggle, we're impatient, we get caught up in the same worldly drive as anyone else. Our experiences provide us with knowledge to share, and our faith provides the heart to share it - so we're doing just that.

Our goal at Manager Material is to teach and develop people managers toward successful team management, measured first by engagement, while "walking the walk" in a faith-centered life. Perfection and judgement aren't part of the equation, but living with a Christ-centric outlook is. We don't believe we are better than anyone else, but we do try to "live differently." When managers get it "right," and teams have a chance to work in a thriving and engaged environment, they are happier with home life, they are more prosperous, and they are healthier - both physically and mentally. All of us are put here with talents that meet a need, and we have found that in working with people managers to improve not only business outcomes, but more importantly the lives of the individuals involved.

A portion of Manager Material's success is used in support of Austin Ridge Bible Church general fund which includes dozens of missions across Austin and the globe, Foster Village - An organization dedicated to supporting Foster Parents, and in the adoption of children in need in Sri Lanka and the Philippines through Compassion International.
